This IAC 2010 Highlight Lecture in Prague discussed the Chandrayaan-1 mission to the Moon. It marked the beginning of India's foray into planetary exploration. The mission carried a selected set of dozen experiments, designed and developed in India as well as in Europe and USA. The mission yielded several important science results. The most prominent among these is the discovery of water molecules and hydroxyl in lunar surface material, [49-minutes].
