[Tim] Hughes [of SpaceX] said that SpaceX is planning on pushing ahead to fly the ‘Falcon 9 Heavy,’ which adds two strap-ons to the Falcon 9 first stage, according to The Lurio Report.
The recent SpaceX video shows near the end shows the date “04.05.11,” a silhouette of a Falcon 9 Heavy, and the “FH” logo. The FH would allow SpaceX to compete for the range of EELV class missions presently lofted by the United Launch Alliance’s (ULA’s) Atlas V/Delta IV, Lurio notes.
Elon Musk would be holding a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington at 11:20 am on April 5 “to discuss his company’s latest venture.” The "big" press conference will be webcast.
