Groundbreaking for the construction of the new launch pad facilities at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport has been set for Monday, June 29,2009 on Wallops Island, Virginia. It was announced earlier today that United States Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-Maryland) will keynote the ceremony at a meeting of the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority.
