As a unique state-of-the-art particle physics detector, the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS-02) will search for signs of antimatter and dark matter in Space. Designed to operate as an external module on the International Space Station following its deployment scheduled next February with STS-134, the over $1.5-billion instrument with aid in undertsanding the physics of the Universe.
