Does Rocketplane have IP assets of value?

Rocketplane, Rocketplane Global and Rocketplane Kistler are now in Federal Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Wisconsin with debt appraoching $14 million collectively among the three entities excluding founder George French.

Liquidation attorneys are eyeing assets that "include some structural components and the patented intellectual property from the company's work designing an aircraft capable of transporting tourists into space. Those design patents may now be sold as part of the bankruptcy liquidation," cited in an NewsOK report today.

The immediate questions liquidation attorneys must ask is whether or not the commercial space launch firm intellectual property rights have value to any other ongoing or would-be commercial space start-up. IF so, then what would be the bankruptcy valuation to purchase it; and subsequently, what to do with it.

The inland Oklahoma FAA licensed commercial spaceport is now in doubt with one key state legislator prepared to pull state funding if no commercial launch activity within the next three years, according to the NewsOK story.
