The year has opened with the Japanese and Russians docking two cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station in January. This month the Europeans will send the Johnnes Kepler Automated Transfer Vehicle is being prepared for a Feb. 15, 2011 launch by an Ariane 5 rocket from the ESA's spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. The European spacecraft will dock the day prior to the launch of the American Space Shuttle Discovery STS-133 mission set for Feb. 24, 2011 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
