The Pathfinder 7 teacher astronauts flew in glider planes with pilot Rick Searfoss, former NASA shuttle pilot and mission commander and present day test pilot for XCOR Aerospace. Searfoss flew the Pathfinder 7 on training flights at the Skylark North in Tehachapi, a glider school that trains USAF test pilots and NASA Shuttle astronauts. Big Stone Gap, VA. native Megan Seals of the SFF board organized a dinner to honor the Pathfinder 7 teacher-astronauts in San Francisco, CA. July 21st. See the Teachers in Space web site.
