The Space Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled for a Nov. 16 at 2:28 p.m. EST liftoff from Pad 39-A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to dock with the International Space Station. The Atlantis will then be on one of the final voyages prior to the launch system retirement late next year as only six flights remain in the manifest. Atlantis on the STS-129 flight will be making the last of the space station crew rotation flights via a space shuttle.
Atlantis and its crew will deliver two control moment gyroscopes, equipment and EXPRESS Logistics Carrier 1 and 2 to the orbiting space station outpost where six humans now reside. The shuttle astronaut team will conduct three spacewalks during their planned 11-day mission.
