The 1976 Viking Mars landing teams may one day be vindicated since the debate continues to rage as to the potential for organic life on the Red Planet more than thirty-four years ago. Carbon-rich organic molecules, which serve as the building blocks of life, may be present on Mars after all, scientists now tell in this BBC News report today - challenging a widely-held notion of the Red Planet as barren.
