The moon is becoming internationally popular as the Chinese Chang'e-2 is set to enter lunar orbit this week joining the American LRO with the Russians and Indians are not to be left out.
Luna-Glob and Luna-Resource [Chandrayaan-2] are being manifested for launch in 2012 and 2013 respectively, a head of the Institute of Space Research says. The lunar probes will perform two landings in the Moon’s polar regions and check if there is any water there.
Scientists believe that Earth’s satellite is not as dry as it was considered before. The Moon can have not only water, but some organic matter, brought there by comets, for instance. More from India Daily.
