The Space Show host Dr. David Livingston was in Utah yesterday to witness the 'exceptional!' Ares-1 solid rocket booster --- the largest booster rocket ever built. The ATK testing firing [2nd vid] produced a whopping 3.6 million pounds of thrust [3rd vid]. The question now is: 'will the civil space community ever see the booster fly next month under federal budget constraints and under NASA's new direction?'
